‘Tis the season!!! Christmas shopping is filling stores, Christmas lights are illuminating every street, and Christmas trees are being brought inside and decorated! Christmas trees are soft wood and coniferous. Coniferous trees have needle-shaped leaves and seed-bearing cones instead of flowers. Some of the trees that you could be carrying into your home for the holiday might be Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, Scotch Pine, Norway Spruce, and Blue Spruce; just to name a few. Fir needles are typically short and flat with blunt tips, they hold their cones upright, and the tree itself is narrow with rigid upright branching. Pine trees’ needles grow in clusters and grow longer compared to other coniferous trees. Spruce needles tend  to be short and stiff. Unlike the fir, spruce needles can spin between your fingers because of it’s round shape. There is nothing quite like bringing the outdoors in for the holidays!
